One of my lovely new bloggy friends has invited me to participate in something called the Seven Links Project. It’s the equivalent of a ‘Greatest Hits’ album or a Simpson’s clip show. Maybe you will think it’s a lame regurgitation, or maybe you will read a few posts that you haven’t. Either way. I’m supposed to reflect back on some of my favorite posts. At the bottom I will provide you with links to other fantabulous bloggers that I have also invited to participate. It’s a rainy day here in Michigan and the U of M v. Notre Dame game doesn’t start until this evening, so this is Me helping You fill your day with good reading. Enjoy.
Most popular
Buzz Kill
Everyone seemed to like this one. I think it has something to do with the chick falling face first out of her car. I prefer to think that it is my informative, yet non-preachy tone.
Radio Silence
Knock Knock
I posted this one on my birthday. The response was crickets. Crickets. I really liked the approach to the issue of aging, body image, birthdays and carrot cake. But whatever, you all didn’t seem to like it. That or I made you so horribly uncomfortable you were left without reply. That’s okay too. I invite you to revisit it, now that perhaps you better understand my humor and my ability to laugh at myself. Oh, and if you haven’t made the cake, you are completely missing out. Jesus, at least make a bowl of the frosting and get a spoon.
Personal Favorite
Those Lucky Charms Are Only Irish If They’re Swimming in Jameson
This is one of my earlier posts and one of my favorite. I am pretty proud of it. I think it has a little bit of everything and it came together pretty well and got all tied up into a nice little bow. First, I managed to get it done in a timely manner. Second, it offers a good recipe, a funny story, a little anger and even a musical interlude. Hell, what more do you want from me?
Best Rant
Put a ring on THIS
I think this is a decently informative rant about one of the most dumb-ass ideas in health and nutrition – the detoxifying fast. What total, utter, bullshit. Don’t fucking starve yourself to be pretty or fit in a dress. Do I need to keep saying this? Oh, and Beyonce, suck it.
Biggest Change Up
In Chinese Your Tattoo Means Doorknob
I guess this is the post were I started to be a little more reflective and share a little more of my personal nonsense. I was pretty committed to the idea of not doing this up until the time I posted this. I really don’t like people knowing much of anything about me. Then I realized maybe if I shared, someone else might benefit blah..blah..blah and all that other touchy feely shit. It took a really long time for me to have the balls to hit the POST button on this one.
Pretty Helpful
Be Sure to Get Your RDA of Irony
I think this article is a helpful combination of snark and information. It was one of my first attempts to cram a lot of nutrient-specific information into an article and have it turn into something pleasantly readable. Read it and see if you think I succeeded.
Hey Look at Me!
How Chows Brown Cow?
I wrote this piece for Exterminating Angel Press and I was pretty freakin excited when they published it in July of this year. It’s a long article, but I hope it is readable and informative. It was the moment I started thinking that maybe I could write.
So there they are, my greatest hits, or maybe misses. I suppose it’s a matter of opinion. Here are seven other blogs you might enjoy. Some are food related, some not. Happy Saturday.
